The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has announced its plans and strategies to regain power in the 2024 elections. Led by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the party has vowed to rebuild Andhra Pradesh and end the “autocratic and anarchic” rule of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
Plenary Session and Membership Drive:
The TDP has decided to hold its plenary session ‘Mahanadu’ every year till 2024, where it will discuss its vision, policies and programmes for the state. The party has also launched a massive membership drive to enroll new members and strengthen its grassroots network.
Rebuild A.P. Programme:
The TDP has promised to initiate the “Rebuild A.P.” programme, which will focus on reviving the state’s economy, development and welfare. The programme will include reintroducing the single-window system to encourage entrepreneurs, establishing micro-clusters in all districts to promote local industries, providing financial assistance and incentives to farmers, implementing welfare schemes for women, youth and other groups, and restoring law and order in the state.
Opposition to Three-Capital Plan:
The TDP has been critical of the YSRCP’s three-capital plan and promised to retain Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh if it comes to power in 2024.
Allegations of Corruption and Vendetta Politics:
The TDP has been accusing the YSRCP of corruption, misrule and vendetta politics. The party has alleged that the YSRCP government has been involved in various scams and irregularities, such as sand mining, liquor syndicate, land grabbing and contract killings.
Confidence and Optimism:
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his confidence and optimism about his party’s prospects in 2024. He has challenged his rival and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to face him in 2024 and prove his popularity.
